Georgia "Jean" (Ferguson Drummond) Cox was born on July 5, 1919 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Joseph and Georgia Lou (Lester) Ferguson. Jean died Sunday October 16, 2016 at 97 years of age. She was the wife of Osage County rancher and WWII Marine officer, Jack Drummond, until his death in 1978 and later the wife of Royce Cox, an Osage County agricultural pilot and Pearl Harbor survivor, until his passing in 2005. Jean led a full and active life as a mother raising four children and also as a rancher's wife. She was also a pilot, an Elder in the Presbyterian Church, taught Sunday School, served as President of the Hominy, Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce, 50-year member of the Eastern Star and a 50-year member of P.E.O.

Jean is survived by three children: Judy Ellis and her husband, Charles, of Bixby, OK, Georgianna Hendrickson and her husband, Tom, of Dunwoody, GA, Joe Douglas Drummond and his wife, Priscilla, of Hominy, OK and daughter-in-law Patricia Drummond, wife of John Drummond, (deceased) of Hominy, OK; fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held in Hominy at 10:00 AM, Saturday November 12, 2016 with a Memorial Service in the Rose Chapel of the Boston Avenue United Methodist Church in Tulsa at 2:30 PM. Dr. William Tankersley III will officiate at both services. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Boston Avenue United Methodist Church.
