June Bonita Butcher, resident of Cleveland, passed from this life to her heavenly home on Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Ascension St. John Medical Center in Tulsa at the age of 69. She was born on November 18, 1956, in Tulsa to Mack and Lucille (Henson) Forrest. June was raised in Tulsa receiving her education there. On May 17, 1985, she was united in marriage to Albert Gene Butcher in Cleveland, OK, having met through one of her sisters. Albert and June honeymooned in Las Vegas. She was a saved and baptized in the Baptist faith and attended Terlton Baptist Church.
June was a homemaker, but loved the outdoors, whether it was fishing or hunting. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her pets, Buttercup and Harley also brought her great joy.
Those who survive and hold many cherished memories include her husband of forty-one years Albert; her sons - Albert Gene Butcher, Jr., Donald Steven Surrell and Michael Paul Surrell. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. June was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Dana Renee McKinney, granddaughter Brittany Renee Butcher, a brother Ray Miller and sisters - Terri Barbour, JoAnn Small and Shirley Clements.
Services for June will be held at 10:30 am Friday, January 23, 2026, in the chapel of the Powell Funeral Home, Hominy. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 22nd from noon till 7:00 pm at the funeral home. Private burial will follow at the A J Powell Memorial Cemetery, Hominy under the care of the Powell Funeral Home. www.powellfuneralservice.com
