Guy Franklin

A Home going Celebration for Guy Franklin was conducted, Saturday, August 16, 2014, 11;00 a.m., Eastside Church of God in Christ, 1516 Martin Luther King, Okmulgee, OK, with Superintendent Frank Brazwell, officiating. Interment followed in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Guy Franklin was born in Kaufamn TX; to Benjamin and Tiny Franklin on July 18, 1910 and died at the age of 104 on August 9, 2014 in Highland Park Manor.

He married Flossie Tunley. and they were blessed with eleven children.

Guy served as a Deacon at Mt. Zion Church of God in Christ for many years. and worked faithfully as Sunday School superintendent and YPWW President.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Flossie Franklin, sisters, Laura, Ludia (Atlanta), Wilma, Mozelle, brothers, Carl, Everett, and Harold, a daughter, Bettye Armstrong and a son, Charles Franklin.

Survivors include five sons, Earl Franklin, Wichita, KS, Forrest (Ammonia) Franklin , Cary, NC; Kenneth (Doris) Franklin, Carson, CA; Donald Franklin, Muskogee, OK; Fulton Franklin, Los Angeles, CA; four daughters, Vernita (Willie) Smith, Wilma Franklin, Los Angeles, CA; Geraldine Mabry (Donald) Norwalk, CA; Mozelle McFrazier, Tulsa, OK; a host of adorable grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
