Jess Short a longtime Henryetta resident passed away on November 21, 2005 in Tulsa,Ok at the age of 81. Born April 4, 1924 in Keota, Ok to George Washington and Lula (Perkins) Short. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army. Jess was a schoolteacher and retired fro Okmulgee Public Schools. He married Lois Moore on December 21, 2968 (36 years 11 months to the Day). His parents and a stepmother Opal Short precede him in death.
Survived by Wife: Lois Short of the home,Children: Donna Gurley of Houston,TX, Dwight Short of Houston, Gary and Vickie Short of Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Ann Miller and Steve of Seattle, WA, Brent and Susan Sutton of Tulsa, Brek and Sherri Short of Henryetta, Brad Short of Henryetta, 7 Grandsons, 5 Granddaughters and 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Brother: Odell Short of Anderson, SC, 2 Sisters: Ellen Slutzky of Oklahoma City, Christine Long of Oklahoma City.
Services will be 11:00am, Saturday, November 26, 2005 at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
