Services: Friday July 9, 2004
Few could have anticipated the great life Don Rose would lead starting on October 9th of 1933. Donald Franklin Rose was born to Frank and Ellena Rose in Duncan, OK. Frank moved the family to Post, Texas to follow the oil industry. Here is where Don attended Post High School, became a Golden Glove boxer and met his future bride Maudie Faye Ray. They were married on April 4th 1953 and four children were to follow. Family and work were very important to Don. He worked in the oil field his entire life, starting at 14, except for the seven years he served as a Deputy Sheriff in Meeteetso, WY. A final move landed Don and Maudie in Henryetta,OK. Here he lived until his passing on July 6th, 2004. His legacy will be carried by his wife of 51 years. Maudie & Children Danny Rose and wife Lana, Melody Ramirez and husband Samuel, Bill Rose and wife Karla, Donna Reavis and Husband Rick. His sisters Wanda McChesney and husband H.G., Mary Ann Wiencht & husband Charles and brothers Ronald Rose & wife Connie, Rolland Rose and wife Josie. 9 Grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ellena Rose and his father in law J.P. Ray.
Memorials can be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, July 9, 2004 at the Church of Christ with Robert Frost and Jackie Smart officiating. Interment will follow at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
