Turner F Kindred Sr a longtime Henryetta resident passed away on April 18, 2004 in Henryetta at the age of 86. Born September 30, 1917 in Holder, Illinois to William Frank and Myrtle (Brown) Kindred. Turner served as a 2nd Lutenant with the US Army Air Corp during W W II. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he had served as Sunday School teacher and Sunday School Superintendent. He worked for the US Postal Service and Railway Clerk for some 20 years. While doing this he moonlighted delivering the Daily Oklahoma, sometimes dropping it in the rural areas by airplane, Radio Disk Jockey for KHEN Radio on Sunday morning and managed the Glen Cliff Dairy. He then later owned and operated the State Farm Insurance office in Henryetta for 33 years. Turner was a founding member of the Henryetta Airman Club, served as a Boy Scout Master, a Municipal Judge for the City of Henryetta and a member of the Lions Club. He is preceded in death by his parents, First wife Elizabeth Kindred, 3 Sons: Dennis Lee, Turner Jr. and John Kindred and three brothers and two sisters.
Survived by:Wife: Alice Jo Kindred of the home,Son: David Kindred Sr. and wife Linda of TulsaDaughter: Janet Beth Dunn of Harrah,OK,Step Daughters: Theresa Moore and husband Dave of Henryetta,Carol Been and husband Allen of Henryetta ,Step Son: John M Doneti and Terry Dennison of Oklahoma City,Daughter-in-law: Judy Kindred of Glenpool,OK,6 Grandsons: David Kindred Jr and wife Mary Katherine of Tulsa,Scott Kindred and wife Terry of Tulsa, Chris Dunn and wife Krystal of Harrah,Nathan Dunn of Choctaw,Lester Been of Henryetta,Turner Kindred III of Tulsa,4 Granddaughters: Malinda Neal and husband Kelly of Henryetta,Jennifer Flanagan and husband Danny of Glenpool,Kristi Odom and husband Tim of Richmond,MO,Melissa Mays of McClemmy, FL,8 Great Grandchildren.
Services will be 1:30 pm Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Robart officiating. Interment will be at the Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home. Memorials Can be made to the First United Methodist Church, Lions Club or the Henryetta Airman Club.
