Blanch Cornelia Howk a resident of Henryetta passed away on August 14, 2006 in Henryetta at the age of 83. Born January 1, 1923 in Wetumka, Ok to Homer and Annis (Webb) Barnes. Blanch worked at the Fountain View Manor Nursing Home, attended the Freewill Baptist Church and the Senior Citizens.

She married Leo “Leaky” Howk on October 17, 1946 in Eufaula, OK.

Blanch is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 54 years, 3 infant children Margaret, Katherian and Sherman David Howk and two sons Johnny Leo Howk and Donnie Emerson. Also 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Survived by Husband of 11 months: Pete Hammett of Savana, OK,Son: Jerry Emerson and wife Alberta of Okmulgee,2 Daughters: Betty Baker & husband Albert of Weleetka, Shirley Leneave & husband Donald of Henryetta,Daughter-in-law: Kearn Howk of Vermont,Sisters: Mildred Campbell of Okmulgee,Marionette Sunny & husband George of Okmulgee, Helen Kiser & husband Bob of Bakersfield, CA 11 Grandchildren,23 Great Grandchildren,1 great Great Grandson,Many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family will be receiving friends and family Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00.

Services will 2:00pm, Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Hoffman Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Cossie officiating. Interment will follow at the Hoffman Cemetery under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
