Suzi Mendoza

August 26, 1943 - January 13, 2021

Edwina Sue (Suzi) Mendoza went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, January 13, 2021, in Midwest City, surrounded by her family. She was 77 years old. Suzi Mendoza was born August 26, 1943 in Amory, Mississippi to Charles and Janet Alward. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Linda Joyce. She is survived by her daughter Cyndi Howell and husband Richard of Arcadia; son Jim Shaw of Midwest City; Granddaughter Brittany Yerby and husband David of Yukon; Great Grandson Rylan Yerby; and her brother Charles Alward Jr. and wife Coleen of OKC. She loves spending time with family, playing games, watching movies or just simply visiting. She loves her family so very much and would do anything for them, even if it meant giving you the last dollar she had or the shirt off her back. Suzi graduated from Midwest City High School in 1961. She also attended Rose State College later in life to study Spanish and other studies. She worked as an Executive Secretary in the Oil & Gas industry for most of her career. Suzi was a devoted mom and Mimi (grandma) and enjoyed spending time with her family as well as traveling. We spent many weekends at her parent's lake house on Lake Eufaula. She loved to go out in the boat while everyone tubed or water skied, even though she would have to be clothed in long sleeves and pants because of her allergy to the sun. She loved the Lord and wanted everyone to know that Jesus loved them and she wanted to see them accept Him as their Lord and Savior. She is loved beyond measure and will be greatly missed! Celebration of life services will be Monday, January 18, 2021 at 2PM at Ford Funeral Home Chapel, located in Del City, followed by interment @ Sunny Lane Cemetery, Oklahoma City.
