Janette Atkinson Yantis

A Vigil service for Janette Yantis was held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 15, 2006 at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Midwest City, where she had been a member since 1977. The Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 16, 2006, also at St. Philip Neri. Mrs. Yantis was laid to rest near her daughter Melinda in the Arlington Memory Gardens Chapel Mausoleum.
Janette Atkinson was born December 18, 1935 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to W.P. "Bill" and Ruby (Beuchamp) Atkinson and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2006 after a valiant struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was a 1954 graduate of Midwest City High School, and later attended Oklahoma City University where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Charles Yantis; her daughter Diana Swafford and husband Gregory; her sons Charles Yantis, and Paul Yantis and wife Tosh; her grandchildren Jason Yantis, Trevor Yantis, and Summer Dawn Yantis; and her sister, Eugenia Davis and husband Joe. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brother William J. Atkinson, and by her beloved daughter Melinda Yantis.
