Van Avery Nigh

August 21, 1928 - October 3, 2008

Van Avery Nigh, 80, passed from his life with us to his Life with Jesus on Friday, Oct. 3, at his home. Born Aug. 21, 1928, in Ralston, OK to Clyde and Nellie Nigh. Van attended Central and Choctaw High Schools, and served in the Air Force. Van loved building things and spent a lifetime on construction sites, while building relationships with many family members and friends. Van was a member of Crest Baptist Church and he has faithfully served the Lord from the time he put his faith in Christ until he went to meet Him. His parents preceded him in death. Van is survived by his beloved wife, LaVerne, two daughters, Darla and Sam Horrocks and Tammy and Bob Anderson; sister, Ann Doke and brother, Bill Nigh; granddaughters, Katelyn, Madison, and Rebekah Horrocks, and Hannah and Sarah Anderson; and fishing buddy Cousin Layne Hoel. Services are Tuesday Oct. 7, 1:00 p.m. at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home with interment at Arlington Cemetery.
