Charles Clyde Everest, Sr.
December 6, 1934 - February 9, 2010
Charles Clyde 'Chuck' Everest, 75, of Midwest City, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010. He was born December 6, 1934 in rural Payette, Oregon to Burt and Lillian (Cox) Everest. Chuck married Lavonne Rose Wynn on June 28, 1952 in Council, Idaho. Chuck's career, as an air traffic controller, in the U.S. Air Force moved their young family around the country; however, his last assignment, at Tinker AFB, allowed them to establish a home in Midwest City. Following the Air Force, Chuck had a second career as a technical writer for the FAA. A well-educated man enjoying Civil War and WWII history along with fishing, boating and bowling helped to make Chuck a well-rounded man of allegiance and leisureliness. Whether it was helping deliver flowers for his wife's business, going on a family cruise, winning 'Best in Show' for his wood turning efforts, or staying in touch with his friends via the internet, Chuck was one of the 'good guys' whose daily life will leave a void in the hearts of those who knew him. Chuck is survived by: his wife of 57 years, Lavonne Everest; son, Marvin Everst; son, Charles C. 'Kyle' Everest, Jr.; and daughter, Cynthia Cookson; his brother, Tommy Everest and sister, Berta Lou Couch. A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 12, 2010 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Arlington Memory Gardens.
