Reubin Henderson Prater

May 31, 1916 - June 26, 2016

Services for Reubin Prater were held at 11:00am Friday, July 1, 2016, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with burial following at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens under the direction of Bill Merritt Funeral Home.
Reubin Henderson Prater was born May 31, 1916 in Putnam, OK and passed away on June 26, 2016. He was the third son of Logan Prater and Linnie Grogan Prater. He had three brothers and one sister. He was a long time resident of Oklahoma City, OK.
Reubin served 29 months in the United States Army Signal Corps during World War II, stationed in the desert of Iran. He spent his early years in west Texas and went to work for the Western Electric Company, working there for forty years before retiring in 1981.
His wife of 59 years , Bernice, preceded him in death.
He is survived by their daughters Terry Curtis and husband Steve of Sapulpa Oklahoma , Jeanne Cole and husband Larry of Ada Oklahona , and son Stephen Prater and his wife Susan of Little Rock Arkansas. He also leaves seven grandchildren, Stephanie Nixon (Jeff), Chris Curtis (Kristin), Jina Crockett (Cory), Michael Cole (Amy), Stephen Prater (Leslie), Bradley Prater (Stephanie) and David Prater (Kimberley). He has ten great-grandchildren, Macy Nixon, Lauren Curtis, Zachary Curtis, Cole Crockett, Cash Crockett, Cate Crockett, Campbell Cole, Wyatt Cole, Owen Prater and Callum Prater.
