Edith Jane Adams was born on October 26, 1936, in Booneville, MS, and departed this life on Thursday, October 6, 2005, in Oklahoma City, OK, at the age of 68.

Edith, the daughter of James Claudie and Hazel Beatrice Cole Martin, was a resident of Paden. She married Billy Joe Adams on October 15, 1955 in Paden. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1999. She retired in 1997 from the U. S. Civil Service. Edith and Billy Joe had moved to Alaska in 1965 where they enjoyed the wonders of nature and outdoor adventures. Following their retirements, they moved back to Paden to enjoy fellowship with family and friends. Edith enjoyed traveling all over the United States, attended church at Faith Bible Church, and reading and studying the Bible. But nothing in life made Edith happier than being with her family and sharing her love for God with others. Her parents; one brother, Hershel Martin; and two sisters, Doris Watkins and Millie Hendrix, also preceded Edith in death.

Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Ron and Judy Adams of Anchorage, AK and Casey Ray Adams of Anchorage, AK; daughter, Janice Gamble of Anchorage, AK; 7 grandchildren, Carl Gamble of Anchorage, AK, Amanda Beaver of Dover, DE, Brittany, Tanner, Brooke, and Kara Adams of Anchorage, AK, Angela and Chris Gamble of Vancouver, WA; 4 great-grandchildren, Cody and Coa Gamble of Anchorage, AK; Tyler and Felicia Gamble of Vancouver, WA; brother-in-law, Charles and Ruby Adams of Paden; sisters-in-law, Darlene Adams of Paden, and Pauline Martin of Bowlegs.
