Funeral services for PFC Terry Kay Maready will be held on Monday afternoon at 2pm at High Springs Baptist Church, south of Okemah. He was twenty years of age and died on May 11 while serving in the United States Army in Vietnam. He had been in Vietnam only three weeks when he was killed in combat. Reverend Dudley Henneha will officiate at the service with Reverend Joe Howard assisting.
Mr Maready was born in Rose Hill, North Carolina on August 1, 1948. He moved to Okemah last year with his parents. He was married to Miss Betty King at Okemah on April 8, 1969.
Mr Maready's body was flown to Oklahoma City by the United States Army and then brought to Okemah on Friday by the Parks Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs Betty Maready, Okemah; his parents, Mr and Mrs Guy Maready, Okemah; one brother, Early Ray Maready, Okemah; two sisters, Mrs Beulah Mobley, Kingslow, Georgia and Mrs Patsy Knights, Oklahoma City.
Interment will be in the Family Cemetery, a private family cemetery South of Okemah under the direction of the Parks Funeral Home.
