Carl Wayne Gordon was born on August 3, 1917 to John Morgan Gordon and Pearly May Gordon in Dustin, Oklahoma. He passed away on September 21, 2006 in Spencer,
TN. After attending High School in Weleetka, Ok he worked for the Civilian Conservation Corp on different projects.
He married his long time sweet heart Oneda Jessie Ellard and they moved to California, where he began welding in the ship yards in Long Beach, CA. Mr. Gordon joined the Boilermakers Union Local 92 and after the war worked on many power plants and refineries in Calif. He was instrumental in assisting welders in passing the welding test for the project that brought Southern California water from the High Sierra. The pipe line was called the Bishop Pipe Line and is still in use today. After retiring in 1982 he moved back to Weleetka,Ok where he grew up and he and his wife settled on the Gordon ranch south of town. Mr. Gordon was a very devoted union supporter and remained that way his whole life.
He loved to garden and raise his special blooming cactus. He loved visits by his grandchild and later his great grandchild, was a devoted husband, a very kind man and he loved his cats.
He is preceded in death by his parents John Morgan and Pearly May (Smith) Gordon, his wife Jessie Oneda (Ellard) Gordon, Sister Lottie Billie Johnson, Brothers George Ivan and Kyle Waymon Gordon (his twin).
Survived By Son: Glynn A. Gordon and wife Clover of Spencer, TN,Granddaughter; Melinda Reane & Husband John Tapia of Los Cruces, NM 2 Great Granddaughters: Izabella and Leah Tapia of Los Cruces, NM,Sister in Law: Anna Lou Gordon of Weleetka,OK,Coleen Pickens of Tulsa,Jack & Velma Ellard of Weleetka,OK Many Nieces and Nephews.
Graveside services will be at 11:00am, Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the Hillcrest Cemetery, Weleetka, Ok under the direction of the Rogers Funeral Home.
