Funeral services for Urel E. “Brownie” Brown 56, of Weleetka were held Sat., Nov. 18 at 3p.m. in the Okemah United Pentecostal Church with Rev. David Shatswell officiating. Brown died Nov 13 in Oklahoma City.
He was born Dec. 23, 1933, in Sherman, Tex., and was an active member of the United Pentecostal Church in Okemah. Brown was the manager of Rural Water District no. 3 in Okfuskee County and owner of Brownie’s Backhoe Service.
He is survived by his wife Virginia Brown, Weleetka; three sons, Anthony Brown, Okemah, Uriel “Tiny” Brown Jr., and Michael Griffith, Midland, Texas; two daughters, Tonya Reel, Yukon and Shauna Adkins. Tulsa; nine grandchildren; three brothers Leonard Brown, Dennison, Tex., John David Brown, Sherman, Tex., Joseph Brown, Memphis, Tenn.; two sisters, Ester Sims, Richardson, Tex., and Mary Carr, Whitesboro, Tex.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Juanita Brown and a brother, James S. Brown, Sr.
The family was in attendance at the Williamson Funeral Home in Weleetka from 7 to 9 p.m. Nov 16.
Interment was in the Weleetka Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home.
