Susan K. Barnett

Susan K Barnett went to her Heavenly Home on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at the age of 70. She passed away at home near Weleetka, OK, after a lengthy illness. Susan was born on September 20, 1951, in Woodward, OK, to Carcel and Dorothy (Coleman) Barnett.

Susan graduated from Enid High School in 1969. She went on to Bacone Collage in Muskogee where she studied Art. Later she went back to collage and completed her Doctorate in Theology. Following Bacone, Susan entered the United States Marine Corps as a Graphics Illustrator, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. While in the Marine Corps, she was formally trained in Goju Ryu Karate and was active in multiple coed sports. She was proud to serve her beloved United States in Okinawa, Japan, The Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, CA, and Quantico, VA. She was honorably discharged in 1981.

Throughout Susan's life she loved sports and music. When younger, she was an outstanding softball player, even playing on adult teams as a young teenager. Susan was also a very talented musician, loving the piano and composing music.

Susan's greatest accomplishment was accepting the Lord Jesus as her savior at the age of 16 at Falls Creek Youth Camp. Her love and faith in the lord was unwavering, even in the challenges of her illness. She had a lifetime gift for charity towards others, helping friends, family, and strangers, as evidenced by countless acts of generosity.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Carcel R Barnett. Susan is survived by her loving mother Dorothy Burden and sister Beth Barnett, both of Weleetka, and one brother, Ron Barnett and his wife Kim Stratford. She is survived and honored by her son, Daniel Parker, and her 3 grandchildren, Presley, Dawson and Findley Parker, Daniel's fiancé Dani and her two sons Easton and Gunner; also, 3 uncles , 5 nephews and 3 neices and other wonderful relatives.

An open viewing will be held on Friday, May 13th, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 14th. at Williamson-Spradlin Funeral Home in Weleetka, 616 S Seminole St. A funeral service celebrating Susan's life will be held Saturday, May 14th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 702 Creek Ave, Weleetka, OK. Interment service will follow at Weleetka Memorial Cemetery.
