Adamson, W. A. (Walter Alfred) born: July 25, 1875 died: June 16, 1930
Funeral services for W.A. Adamson, 53 years old, well known Okemahn who shot and killed himself in the backyard of his home at 114 N. 6th St. at 7:45 o'clock Tuesday evening were held at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon in the American Legion Hut. Burial was made in Highland cemetery. Mr. Adamson had lived here 12 years. He returned home later than usual Tues. Night according to family members, and after walking around the house for a few minutes he stepped into the backyard, knelt beside a grape arbor and shot himself in the head with a bullet form a 38 caliber revolver.
The revolver was a new one but city authorities had not determined its origin. Although Mr. Adamson left no note of explanation city officials attributed his act to worry over differences with his son, Joe, 21 years old, which culminated in a violent quarrel late Sunday afternoon in which the son is alleged to have overpowered his father and took a storage check away from him. Mr. Adamson is survived by his wife and five sons, Joe of Okemah, Howard of Miami, TX, and Orville, Vernal and Walter, all of Okemah.
