Leonice Theodora Banks-Mitchell, "Pookie" was born on October 28, 1962, in Boley, and departed this life on Friday, February 10, 2017, in Boley Oklahoma, at the age of 54.

Pookie, the daughter of Leodus and Bernice (McCormick) Banks, was a resident of Boley. Pookie graduated from Boley High School with the class of 1980. In the early 80s Pookie moved to California, where she worked with her aunt, running "Aunt May's" restaurant. Upon May's passing, Pookie moved back to Boley to help her uncle T.R. McCormick run McCormick's Store. When T.R. passed Pookie began running McCormick's, where she was famous for her "Pookie Burgers". Pookie married James Mitchell on August 9, 2008, in Boley, and they made their home there.

Pookie's parents and brother, Levi "Lucky" Fisher III, and one great nephew, Gabriel, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband ,James, of the home; sister-in-law, Selene Fisher OKC; niece and nephew, Yukichi Fisher OKC, Levi Liondell IV Ft Worth Texas, and Tyrhonda Fisher OKC; great nephew, Johnny Herdon; aunts and uncles Charles and Marget Banks, Forest Troy and Pamela Banks, Linda and Albert Rice Sr, Dollie and Arnelious Crenshaw and Ollie Smotherman.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM, at Amos Temple CME in Boley with Pastor Elmer Lugrand officiating. Interment will follow at East Lawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
