Dr. James W. "Jim" Zeiders

Dr. James W. "Jim" Zeiders
December 16, 1933 ~ November 5, 2017

Jim entered Heaven on November 05, 2017. As promised, this obituary will be a short narrative of his earthly life. Jim was raised in the Oklahoma City area and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with his medical doctorate degree. Lest we forget, but we are ever reminded, Jim attended his beloved Oklahoma State University for undergraduate studies in engineering.

Jim began his career as an orthopedic surgeon in the Bartlesville community in 1965. He gave the United States Air Force 2 years of service in the Vietnam conflict. Returning in 1968, Jim began his medical practice, serving the Bartlesville and surrounding communities until 2006. His last 10 years in practice was spent as the Rehabilitation Medical Director at Jane Phillips Medical Center. After he retired in 2016, Jim believed he fulfilled his final medical career purpose in helping the family care for Nathan,"Nate the Great" in the home setting.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Mary Zeiders, and one grandson, Nathan Fitzsimmons. To humor Jim, he wants to include and all to know, Sully and Wilson, the family Great Danes, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Robin and several children: David and Mary Lou Zeiders of Brenham, Texas; Mike and Lynda Thurman of Norman, OK; John and LaDonna Zeiders of Edmond, OK; Carol Porter of Bartlesville, OK; Stephanie Zeiders of Ardmore, OK; Greg and Robyn Zeiders of Edmond, OK; Mike and Mary Beth Washington of Bartlesville, OK; Tom and Elizabeth Zeiders of Tulsa, OK; Justin and Julie Fitzsimmons of Wann, OK; Thomas and Randii Harrald of Bixby, OK and Mary Harrald of the home. Jim is also survived by a brother, John "Jack" and his wife, Louise of Houston, Texas, 23 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Jim wanted to include in this list Robin's parents, Floyd and Pat Thompson of Ramona, OK and family members: Doug and Carol McCabe of Dewey, OK; Rick and Cheryl Shull of Copan, OK; and Nick and Amy Foster of Copan, OK.

Finally, Jim leaves behind a community of dear friends and colleagues. He enjoyed taking care of people and assisting in their medical care. Jim said to share he had the "house in order" and will await the happy reunion in Heaven.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Oklahoma Baptist Children's Home in Owasso, 12700 E 76th Street N, Owasso, OK 74055.

A Celebration of Life will be held 10:00 am, Thursday, November 9 at First Baptist Church of Bartlesville.
