Private family services are planned to celebrate and remember the life of Betty Ann Younger. Betty passed away in Claremore, on Sunday, June 1, 2025. She was 82 years old.
Betty Ann Younger was born in Tulsa, OK on May 31, 1943, to Elijah Leo “Lige” and Mary Francis (Bitting) Younger. She was raised and educated in the Skiatook area and graduated from Skiatook High School. Betty was the mother of 2 daughters, Pam and Paula.
A lady that lived a very colorful life. In her younger days Betty devoted her time to her family. She was an excellent seamstress and made many of her daughters’ dresses. Betty always had a huge vegetable garden and would can the fruits of her labor so her family had fresh vegetables year-round. Betty’s work career was as colorful as her life. She worked at Centrilift now Baker Hughes, had a beauty shop in Claremore, Jane Phillips Hospital in Bartlesville, cooked for a nursing home and the Elks Lodge in Bartlesville, and perhaps her favorite because of her true green thumb worked for Silver Lake Nursery. No story about Betty would be complete unless you mentioned her passion for antiques and taking in stray animals especially cats. She was a true junker at heart and buying and selling antiques brought her countless hours of enjoyment.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Pam Phillips and Paula Roland and husband Brian, grandchildren, Jarrett Phillips, Jacey Cory and husband Jeremy, Sidney Roland and Landry Roland, great granddaughter, Magnolia Cory, brothers, John Younger and wife Denise, Earl Younger, and Jerry Younger, sisters, Debbie McNeill, and Virginia, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Brenda and Glenda, brothers, Larry Vest Jr. and Ronnie Younger.
