On September 11, 2015, the Lord called Perry Wayne Yarbrough home to His Kingdom. Perry was born June 15, 1932, in Overbrook to Carroll and Allie Yarbrough. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1952 and married the love of his life, Barbara, on April 12 that same year.
He quickly became and remained the "rock" of the family with strong moral and family values and a fierce loyalty to those he loved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all, golf. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
Perry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Barbara; daughter, Vickie Yarbrough-Tessmann; sons, Danny Yarbrough and Kelly Walker; seven beautiful granddaughters and two handsome grandsons, Shauna Ressler, Kari Kyle, Amy Yarbrough, Cody Yarbrough, Tyler Yarbrough, Shelby Walker, Kenzie Walker, Bella Walker and Gracie Walker; and seven great-grandchildren.
Perry was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother, Thomas Yarbrough; sisters, Billie Marie Spears and Carol Jo Jones; and great-grandchild, Lonnie Alvarez.
A memorial service was held at the family's home at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 16.
