Yvonne Rose (Fox) Wynn

Yvonne Rose (Fox) Wynn
October 8, 1946 ~ January 9, 2026

Yvonne R. (Fox) Wynn, 79 of Kirksville, MO passed away Friday, January 9, 2026, because of an auto accident in Tahlequah, OK.

She was born October 8, 1946, to the late George Wayne and Aline Fox of Welch, OK.

Yvonne was married to Tom Wynn on June 22, 1964. To this marriage, two children were born.

She is survived by children, Jeff, (Kim) Wynn, Terri Wynn both of Kirksville, MO; five grandchildren, Brody, Tanner and Ashtyn Mathes, Kory (MaryBeth) Turner, Carlee (Nick) Bosler; great granddaughters, Daisy Sue and Violet Fox Turner who were absolutely the lights of her life, two great grandsons, Maverick and Harrison; brother, Harry (Shirley) Swally; sisters, Patsy Neal, Janice (Danny) Osburn all of NE OK; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and special friends Barry and Dixie Baiotto. Yvonne loved Dixie like a sister and was so happy when her son married Dixie's daughter and both families blended seamlessly.

Years ago, when Yvonne moved to Kirksville, she worked at the Florsheim Shoe Factory in the office as a payroll clerk. She moved back to OK and worked at Grove Hospital in the ER. Yvonne retired from the hospital after 20+ years and moved back to Kirksville to be closer to her kids and grandkids. She worked at Sprocket Technologies in Kirksville until the time of her death. Her Sprocket coworkers considered her their work mom.

Yvonne was born and raised in Oklahoma and even though she lived away for several years, she missed living there every day. She was very proud of her Indian heritage. When it was time for her to go home it was fitting, she was in Oklahoma on Indian land while she was there getting her great granddaughters signed up on the Cherokee tribal roll.

Yvonne was an animal lover her whole life. She almost always had a Pekingese to play with as her children grew up. The las several years she especially enjoyed spoiling her grand dogs Bella, Shiloh, Livi, Katie, Kenna, Gracie and Chief. She had a special bond with the Sprocket office dog, Nala. Yvonne was never too busy to take "the kids" for a bye-bye ride or grill them a hot dog. She always made sure Nala (a BIG lab) had her nails trimmed and painted.

Per Yvonne's wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no public visitation.

Celebration of life is set for Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Burckhalter-Highsmith Chapel.

Arrangements are under the care of Burckhalter-Highsmith Funeral & Cremation Services "Vinita's only locally owned and operated funeral home".
