Alma Viola (West) Wright
May 11, 1924 ~ January 17, 2025

Alma Viola (West) was born on May 11, 1924, to Espy Sandlin and Ida Belle (Sams) West in Pickett Prairie, Creek County, Oklahoma. She departed the world on January 17, 2025.

She graduated from Kellyville High School in 1941 and Attended Tulsa Business College. Alma was united in marriage with William Milton Wright, and from this union were born three children, Sigrid, Sammie and Steven.

Alma was employed in Classified and Legal Advertising at Sapulpa Daily Herald for many years. She was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Disabled American Veterans Women’s Auxiliaries and the Sunrise Cemetery Association. She worked tirelessly in her efforts to support the community of Kellyville and Sunrise Cemetery. She enjoyed being with her family and traveling to see relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents Espy and Ida West, husband William Wright, granddaughter Alecia Rena Dean, brothers Neville West, Paul West and Richard West, sisters Bonnie (West) Jones, Ruby (West) Berry, Hallie (West) Jones, Fern (West) Jones, and Mildred (West) Fuller.

She is survived by her children Sigrid Yates of Moore, Oklahoma, Sammie Dean and husband Lloyd of Stroud, Oklahoma and Steven Wright and wife Rebecca of Tulsa, Oklahoma, grandchildren Gary Dean, Andrea Myers, Angela Dean, Lloyd William Dean and Andrew Yates, seven great grandchildren and nine great great grandchildren.
