Jason "Woody" Douglas Woodard, age 55, of Woodward, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Jason was born April 12, 1970 to Joan Simondi in Liberal, Kansas. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Jason leaves behind his devoted wife, Belinda Ward, and a large, loving family that meant everything to him. His legacy lives on through his children: Vance Woodard, Colby Ward, Destinee Woodard,Jason Woodard and wife Kaitlyn, Jarrod Woodard and girlfriend Ashtyn Baggs, Vanessa Woodard and Chandler Lennington.
Jason was a proud and caring grandfather to Kaden and Jada Woodard, Haley, Tadem, Jaycee, and Nathan Ward, Julian and Asher Woodard, Kache Douglas and Tucker Wayne. He found immense joy in watching his grandchildren grow and was often seen cheering them on, offering advice, or making them laugh with his quick wit and big heart.
He is also survived by Jack and Michelle Woodard, Charlotte Brown, Eric and Kendra Brown, Gail and Brad Magers,Cindy Ward and Ben Gulley, David and Lola Ward, Lisha Warnock, Dawson and Logan Williams, Canyon, Cedar, Cadence, and Mackenlie Brown, Bailey and Emily Ramirez and Skylar and Tylar Magers and many other treasured relatives.
Jason was preceded in death by Joan Simondi, Vernon Woodard, Linda Ward, Brandon Jones, Tena Warnock,Valerie Ann Woodard, Von Austin Woodard, and Jonathon Dion Rock.
Known for his hardworking spirit, sense of humor, and deep love for his family, Jason never met a stranger. He was a man of strong values, deep roots, and unwavering loyalty. His presence filled a room, and his absence will be felt profoundly.
Jason was a dedicated member of the team at the Woodward County Event Center, where he worked for many years. He truly loved his job and his coworkers, and took great pride in being part of the events that brought the community together. His work wasn't just a career-it was a place where he made friendships, shared laughter, and made a difference. Before that, Woody, as the oil field family knew him, worked for many years as a rig operator.
A celebration of life will be held to honor Jason's memory, where family and friends will gather to share stories, tears, and laughter in remembrance of the remarkable man he was.
Though gone too soon, his impact on the lives he touched will never fade.
Jason always wanted to make sure Destinee knew how much he loved her and how much joy she brought to him the last few months as he fought this fight. Nathan, Grandpa will always be your best friend and everytime you eat a Oreo remember him. Jada, remember his laugh and don't forget to smile when you think of him. Kaden,the next time you go fishing in the rain remember the time Grandpa took you to the lake just so you could fish a little. He loved all of his children and grandchildren dearly.
