Janet Sue (Killingsworth) Wood

Janet Sue (Killingsworth) Wood
October 2, 1945 ~ October 11, 2025

Family Arranged Services.

Janet Sue (Killingsworth) Wood, 80, of Tulsa, OK, was born on October 2, 1945, in Mulvane, KS to Robert Edwin Killingsworth and Laura Mae (Overbey) Killingsworth. She went to be with our Lord on October 11, 2025, in Tulsa, OK.

Janet took great pride in her career as a nurse, dedicating her life to caring for others with compassion and grace. She will always be remembered for her selfless heart and her ability to see the best in everyone she met. Known by her family for her famous chocolate pies and fried chicken, Janet’s kitchen was a place of love and laughter. She was also an avid football fan — if it was football season, you could count on Janet cheering for her favorite teams with enthusiasm and joy.

Janet is survived by her children: Mike Wood and wife, Melissa, of Broken Arrow, Steve Wood and wife, Jill, of Ada, Jennifer Elam and husband, Bobby, of Tulsa, and Tammy Taylor and husband, Chad of Tulsa; her daughter by choice, Jordan Wydur of Claremore; she was the proud “Gramin” to her beloved grandchildren, Jessica, Mikey, Blake, Ashley, Brittnee, Matthew, and Jaxon, and great-grandchildren, Aiden, Averett, and Abel. Janet is also survived by her sister, Annie Minor and husband, Gary of Clever, MO; her beloved dog, Sis; and countless loved ones and friends who will miss her dearly.

Janet’s love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Nancy, and her former husband, Gerald Wood.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.

Online condolences to the family can be made at johnsonsperry.com.
