Jim Winter

Jim Winter
March 1, 1946 ~ September 20, 2018

Jim Winter was born March 1, 1946 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He departed this life on September 20, 2018 in Stilwell, Oklahoma.

When he was 19 years of age he was sent to Vietnam where he served as a medic. After his tour in the Army, he joined the Oklahoma City Police Department. He had many stories to tell after his time on the police force. Later he joined the Air Force and was stationed in Oklahoma City and later in Korea. While in the Air Force, he was able to travel to many countries of interest. After the passing of his Korean wife, he remained in Korea. He then found lucrative employment with a contractor in Korea. He retired in 2011 and moved to Stilwell where he remained until his death.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Dorothy Winter of Chickasha.

He is survived by two children, Dee Dee Cook and Jay Winter. Also to honor his memory are two sisters, Charla Carlson and husband Vaughn and Ann Ritchie.

He loved living in Stilwell with the beautiful country and slower pace of life. Jim donated his body to OU Medical School. Hopefully they can find cures for COPD and heart problems. No
