Leonard Russell Wilson was born October 23, 1957, in Watonga, Oklahoma, to Arlynd and Ruby Wilson, and he passed away on December 19, 2025, at the age of 68. He was a resident of Okeene community all his life, where he worked as a Fertilizer spreader operator for over 13 years, a farm hand, as well as a diesel and heavy equipment mechanic for several years until he retired in 2024. He attended Okeene Public Schools and graduated in 1975. He married Debra Bocklund on July 7, 1977, in Hitchcock, Oklahoma at the Hitchcock Methodist Church. Leonard loved to hunt, fish, go camping, and spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed farming and running cattle on the family farm in Okeene. He also loved going bowling and playing Horseshoes.
Leonard is preceded in death by his father, Arlynd Wilson, his mother, Ruby Wilson, and his father-in-law Henry Dale Bocklund.
He is survived by his wife Debra Wilson of Okeene Oklahoma; his Son Arlynd Dale Wilson (Buddy) and Jessica Lubbers of Okeene; his Daughter Tina Jeanne Morrison and Daniel Morrison of Okeene; his brothers, Steve Wilson and Shelia Wilson of Michigan and Dale Wilson and Teresa Wilson of Okeene; his sisters, Anita Dobrinski and Mark Dobrinski of Okeene and Gail Dodson and Joel Dodson of Enid; his mother-in-law, Carol Bocklund of Minnesota, as well as 8 grandchildren, Russell Morrison, Hunter Morrison, Aaron Wilson, Dalton Wilson, Makienze Morrison, Hailey Peacock, Lily Mae Peacock, and Melissa Lubbers-Hicks.
Memorial Service for Leonard will be January 3, 2026, at 10:00 am, held at the First Baptist Church of Okeene with Phillip Wilson officiating the service. There will be no graveside.
