Ellen (Hite) Williamson

July 2, 1954 ~ August 6, 2009

Services for Ellen Hite Williamson, 55, of Arkansas City, Kansas, were held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 10, at the Evangelical Free Church in Winfield, Kansas. Interment was at 9 a.m., Monday at the Maple City Cemetery, Cowley County, Kansas.

Born July 2, 1954 in Owensboro, Kentucky the daughter of Charles D. and Uneeda Dabney Hite, she died Thursday, August 6, 2009, at her residence.

The Hite family moved to Homestead, Florida when she was a young girl. She and Dean Williamson were married April 27, 1974, in Homestead. The couple lived various places, including 15 years in Texas, 13 years in Marietta, and moved back to Arkansas City and the family ranch in August 2008. Mrs. Williamson was a homemaker and teacher as she homeschooled all of the children. She was active in the Eastside Baptist Church of Marietta and the Evangelical Free Church in Winfield.

Survivors include her husband, Dean Williamson of the home; stepson and daughter-in-law, Kip and Judy Williamson of Blanchard; three sons and daughter-in-law, Luke and April Williamson of Milton, Florida, Forrest Williamson and Joseph Williamson of Arkansas City; four daughters and son-in-law Joy and Justin Daniels of Fate, Texas, Nadine Williamson, Spring Williamson and Grace Williamson all of Arkansas City; a brother and sister-in-law, Charles Jr. and Rita Hite of Orlando, Florida; a sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Don Barlow of Grandin, Florida; and her parents, Charles and Uneeda Hite of Grandin; and six grandchildren, Kade, Kelton, Sydney, Kylie, Shane and Molly.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Theda Hite.

Memorials have been established with the Ellen Williamson Caregiver Fund or the Awana children’s program at the Evangelical Free Church in Winfield.
