Terry Curtis Williams

October 9, 1954 ~ June 10, 2025

Terry Curtis Williams, 70, of Wann, Oklahoma passed away on June 10, 2025.

Born on October 9th, 1954 in Independence, Kansas to the late Leon and Curtis Williams, he was number 11 of 12 children. He grew up on the buffalo ranch, graduating in '72 and served his country as a United States Marine for 4.5 years and was proud to do so.

In '78 he married the love of his life, Sandy Parks. Together, they had two children, Travis Williams, 41, of Wisconsin and Sierra Bechtel, 31, of Pennsylvania. Also surviving niece, who was like a daughter to him, April Grunigen, 40, of Oklahoma and his best friend since second grade, Jim Botts.

Continuing in the footsteps of his dad and brothers, Terry had a great career in carpentry. He continued his career with CTS Bulk Terminal, later known as Rapidset, moving with the company to Pennsylvania in 2003. Following his retirement as plant manager, he and his wife moved "back home" to Kansas in 2017.

Known for his generous heart, hard work, and love for hunting, fishing and all things outdoors, he lived his life full of love and integrity. He leaves many family and friends behind but will forever be remembered for his infectious smile and laugh. His love spread to all who knew him, including every child and animal he ever encountered.

Terry was a wonderful husband, loving dad, dearest brother, best friend. He was always there when needed for a talk, walk, ride or just a hug. He and his wife, Sandy, were the best of buds, especially at the end of his life. His dear sister-in-law, Sue, came daily to care for them and to keep him company. His family is forever grateful to God that they got to keep him for as long as they did. His faith in God was everlasting and he trusted Him wholeheartedly. Terry's strength and fighting spirit was evident even through his battle with Parkinson's dementia. In his final gift of life, he donated his pace maker to save an animal in need. He had many beloved animals in his life, most recently his dog Ringo, 14, that passed last July.

Those who knew them are welcome to come to his celebration of life Monday, June 23rd at 4:30pm at Lone Chief Cabin at Riverside Park in Independence, KS. Feel free to bring a dish for the pot luck or flowers for the wife.
