Billie Gayle (Foster) Williams

Billie Gayle (Foster) Williams
September 2, 1925 ~ August 23, 2022

Our wonderful mother, Billie Gayle Foster Williams, has passed from this earth to her heavenly home, a gift she received by having faith in Jesus Christ.

Billie Gayle was the daughter of Beulah and Walter Gayle Foster. Billie Gayle was a student leader at Lawton High as well as a Cheerleader. She made many lifelong friends, one she decided to marry. Billie Gayle married Bob R. Williams and began a journey that lasted 63 years until Bob R.’s passing.

Billie Gayle had many unique experiences during her lifetime. She was recovering from ACL surgery as a teenager in Oklahoma City by herself when she learned of Pearl Harbor. She sang with her sisters at Fort Sill for the injured soldiers; she also sang at tent revivals with her sisters – Babe, Sally and Betty. Her various pursuits ranged from working in a photography studio during the war to being a school secretary, being an administrative assistant to a state senator, and coordinating with her beloved Bob R. to make sure the Oklahoma Coaches Clinic was a complete success.

Our mother never missed an opportunity to serve others whether it be by bringing an angel food cake, some flowers from her garden, teaching Sunday school class into her 90’s,or sitting all night long in the hospital with those in need.

We believe she was best at being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She taught her grandchildren to bake the best bread, and made the most wonderful dresses for herself, daughters and granddaughter; the Halloween costumes for her grandchildren were second to none. She loved us all unconditionally with all her heart.

She was preceded in death by her parents Walter Gayle and Beulah Foster, her three sisters Garvine Brammer, Sally Crabtree, Betty Sanders and her husband Bob R. Williams.

She is survived by her children Patricia Woods, David (Mary) Williams, Abbe (Mark) Riggin, Bob R. Williams, Jr. She was blessed with four grandchildren John Michael Woods, Matthew Emerick Woods, Zachary (Jessica) Riggin, Luci O’Hara (Evan) Wilson and three great grandchildren Amelia Riggin, Sophie Riggin, and Evangeline O’Hara Wilson.

Our mother absolutely loved gardening and especially flowers. Please think of someone you love and give them flowers in memory of our Mother. Visitation will be from 4pm to 6pm Thursday, September 1. Services will be 11am Friday, September 2 at Fairview Baptist Church under the direction of Walker Funeral and Cremation Service.
