Dora Mae Welch, age 62, a longtime Atoka, OK resident. She was born on Tuesday, July 16, 1963, to Paul Newton and Nadine Elizabeth (Taylor) Welch, at Phoenix, AZ. Dora passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at her home in Atoka, OK. She attended Atoka Public Schools then attended Coalgate High School, where she graduated from. Dora was a waitress at the Atoka Truck Stop. Dora enjoyed going camping and concerts with family and friends. She loved her granddaughter immensely. She liked to go to the casino, garage sales, and hiking. Dora loved to bake and share; especially her pineapple upside down cake. Bringing people her upside down cake and cinnamon rolls brought her great joy!
Dora is survived by her daughter, CJ Shortsleeve and husband Michael of Tulsa, OK; granddaughter, Kallie Kucera of Stillwater, OK; grandson, Noah Shortsleeve of Broken Arrow, OK; stepson, Jimmy McKeen; mother, Nadine Elizabeth (Taylor) Welch; sisters, Carol Parsons, Squirrel White and husband Danny of Oklahoma City, OK, Lesa Maxey and husband Curtis of Kellyville, OK; brother, Donnie Welch of Caney, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and many dearly loved friends.
Dora was preceded in death by her father, Paul Newton Welch; brother,
Frank Welch; sister, Barbara Taylor; stepson, Roy McKeen.
