Thank You For Your Service!

Stephen Graeme Warren Jr.

Stephen G. Warren Jr.
July 28, 1950 ~ Nov. 10, 2016

Steve was born July 28, 1950, at the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina. He was an at-risk baby and he almost didn't make it. The doctor cobbled together an incubator for him, as incubators weren't readily available back then.

Steve grew up on Marine Corps bases, all over the USA. Steve had a strong personality and great capabilities. He often talked about how much he enjoyed attending a military academy during his high school years.

Steve was a 2nd Degree Blackbelt in Ninjutsu, which he earned as a young man. He received a Bachelor's Degree in History at the Univ. of Texas and worked as a junior high and high school teacher for a short time.

He was a Vietnam-era veteran of the U.S. Air Force, following his father in military service. Steve worked on aircraft electronics and was stationed in Japan.

He married Margaret Luhra Tivis on Friday, February 14, 1997, in North Little Rock, Arkansas, at the Baptist church where they attended the Christian Motorcyclists Association regular Tuesday Bible study, hosted by Stroker Wiggs.

Steve loved his Harley motorcycles and often rode together with his wife, and friends. But he made Margaret sell her Yamaha because it was not a Harley. Some of his Enid friends knew him as "Crossbones."

We bought a house in Little Rock and settled down for ten years. Steve spent his time training his dogs, Duke, Ginger, Jake, Ruger, and Sara, and tinkering on his bikes in his fully equiped garage.

We parted in 2007 and I moved home to Enid. Steve joined us in Enid in 2011, for two years, and we were joyfully reunited.

He returned to Little Rock in 2013, where he could be cared for by his favorite doctor at the VA hospital. There, he passed away Nov. 10, 2016, age 66, and once again broke my heart.

His interment is at the Ft. Smith National Cemetery, Section 27, Site 984, at 522 Garland Ave. & South 6th Street, Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

Steve was predeceased by his father, Brigadier General Stephen G. Warren Sr., USMC, a fighter pilot who knew Charles Lindberg; his Mom, our beloved Miss Babe; an infant brother; and his much loved grandparents.

He was also predeceased by the two doggies that he and I loved so much, Lucy and Murphy.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Luhra Tivis Warren; sister-in-law, Jeanie Nichols; his brother, Frederic Blair Warren of Tenn.; cousins in Tennessee; and his cat, Boots.

He is riding a heavenly Harley on a road trip to see Jesus, with the breeze in his hair and, finally, peace and healing in his heart and soul.
