Mr. Evan V. Wallace arrived in Killeen, Texas from Oklahoma Sunday evening and passed away at seven o'clock Monday morning at City Hospital.

Mr. Wallace was a well known man at this place having at one time been a merchant here and who had many friends that were glad to welcome him back.

Mr. Wallace was 65 years of age and had been in bad health for the past three years been living on his farm at Crawford, Oklahoma.

The people are grieved to think he did not live long enough to enjoy his new home and be with old friends again.

Mr. Wallace was laid to rest in Killeen City Cemetery Tuesday evening at 8:00 o'clock, funeral services held by Baptist pastor.

All business of Killeen remained closed to pay their respect to their dead and grieved friends.

Mrs. Wallace is a sister to Chas. P. Hairston who is in business in this city and will make her future home here.

Mr. Wallace leaves to mourn his death, his wife, Lenora F. and two single children, Gertie Mae and Leslie; and two married daughters, Mrs. G. W. Petrey of Crawford, Oklahoma; and Mrs. T. H. Bruton of New Mexico; four grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.
