Norma Louise (Eye) Walker

Norma Louise (Eye) Walker, age 91, passed on Thursday, August 31, 2017, in her home. She had resided in Bartlesville for most of her married life.

Norma Walker was born on July 9, 1926 in Nowata County, Oklahoma. She married Kenneth E Walker (deceased) on August 29, 1947, Coffeyville Kansas in the home of her parents. They were married for 61 years at the passing of Kenneth Walker on September 18, 2008.

Norma's parents were Elton and Ethel (Harrison) Eye. She was the fourth child in the family. All of her siblings have passed. Anna Marie (Eye) Shaw, Leaella Maxine (Eye) Ross, Elton Eye, and Carlene Crystal (Eye) Lembeck.

Norma attended school in Lenapah, Oklahoma. She worked at the Air Field and for Phillips Petroleum Company for a short time while her husband finished college at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma. She was an active member of Oak Park United Methodist Church more than 50 years. She sang in the Church Choir, as well as being the Director for a short time. She also held other offices on the Board at the Church.

Norma is survived by: one son, Kenneth Stephen (Steve) and (Deborah {Stearns}) Walker of Bartlesville, Oklahoma ;and one daughter, Margaret E (Margy Walker) Chasteen (Dorman L Chasteen, Jr.) of Huntsville, Alabama. Two sisters-in-law Waneta Gladys Walker-Edwards of Huntsville, Alabama and Mary Ellen Lembeck-Eye of Coffeyville, Kansas.Seven grandchildren: Jody Lee Walker - DuPont (husband Christopher DuPont); Rebecca Lynn Walker- Addison (husband Bradley Addison); Stephanie Ann Walker-Wade (husband James Wade); Kenneth James "Jimmy" Walker (fiancé Kayly Combs); Kendra Louise Walker-Chasteen-Lee (husband Jerimy Lee); Christina Sue Chasteen-Mooren (husban Christopher Mooren) and Virginia Anne Chasteen-Esslinger. She has twelve great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. She also has a host of nieces and nephews.

A memorial fund has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to Oak Park United Methodist Church, 601 Brentwood, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74003 or to Comforting Hands Hospice, 1366 S.E. Washington Blvd., Suite A, Bartlesville, Oklahoma 74006.

Visitation for Mrs. Walker will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at the Stumpff Funeral Home from 9 A.M. until 8 P.M. and on Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday also from 9 AM to 8 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Oak Park United Methodist Church with Rev. Colleen Runty and Rev. Tom Litteer officiating.

Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, September 8, 2017 at the Restlawn Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas and directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
