Larry "L. V." Vermillion

Larry "L.V." Vermillion was born July 15, 1955 in Elk City, Oklahoma to Virginia Mae and James Curtis Vermillion. He passed away February 17, 2014 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years, 7 months and 2 days.

Larry grew up and attended school in Elk City, Oklahoma. During his school years he began working with his father in the cement construction business. He was married to Patty "P.J." (Haggard) Vermillion at Elk City, Oklahoma on August 5, 1988 and they continued to make Elk City their home. In the late 90's Larry took over the family business, Vermillion and Son Construction and continued to build and grow the business. Larry saw the value of hard work and passed on this legacy to his son and grandsons. In 2009 Larry became ill and has bravely fought this battle for the past 5 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing baseball and softball and also spending time with his family and friends and was affectionately known as "Papa" to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents on both sides.

He is survived by his wife, P.J., of the home; 2 daughters, Candy Rayne Denney, Elk City, OK, Tambra Kay Armendariz and husband, Joe, Elk City, OK; son, Larry Shane Vermillion and wife, Brandy, Elk City, OK; 2 step children, Dustin Artie Durland and wife, Jacquline, Elk City, OK, and James Anthony Durland, Elk City, OK; 21 grandchildren, 1 brother, Curtis Ray Vermillion, Balch Springs, TX; 3 sisters, Janie Jackson, Ft. Worth, TX, Barbara McGee, Memphis, TN, Nelda Blalock, Muldrow, OK; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
