Carol Marie (Niederer) Vaughn
March 10, 1950 ~ June 14, 2022 (age 72)

Carol Marie (Niederer) Vaughn was born on March 10, 1950, in St. Charles, Missouri to Joseph Edward and Violet Margaret (Twelkemier) Niederer. She walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Durant, Oklahoma at the age of 72 years 3 months 4 days.

Carol married Coy Eldon Vaughn on May 3, 1975, in Belle, Missouri. Coy preceded her in death on October 20, 2003.

Carol was survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Tina Vaughn, Kingston, OK, Karen & Mark Delong, Palm Bay, Fl, sons and daughter-in-law, Dennis & Shelia Vaughn, Cuba, MO, Glenn Vaughn, Gerald, MO, daughter-in-law, Diane Vaughn, Durant, OK. Sisters and brother-in-law, Linda Kemp, Owensville, MO, JoAnn Creason, Owensville, MO, Neta “Bug” & Philip Wesley, Durant, OK. Grandchildren: Abagael Perkins Jackson, Kimberly Vaughn Norris, Kasondra Vaughn Thomasson, Melissa Perkins Boydstun, Kendra Vaughn Chronister, Brandy Hamilton, Tera Vaughn Miller, Samantha Vaughn, Megyn Hamilton, Katelyn Vaughn, Spencer Tidwell, and Skyler Tidwell. Niece and Nephews that were like grandchildren: Matthew Wesley, Paul Wesley, Deidre Inselman, and Scottie Wesley. 23 Great-grandchilden with one on the way and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Carol accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior in 1976 and was baptized in the Baptist Church. Carol loved singing, reading, and studying her Bible, and crocheting. She was very fluent in sign language and taught classes for many years. Carol contracted polio at age of 2, however she never let it slow her down. She continued to work, provide for her children, and work in the Church. She loved her Lord and enjoyed working with the children in VBS and Sunday School. She was a member of the Mead Baptist Church. She enjoyed road trips with her daughter and grandsons. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her special fun with the great-grandchildren was riding them around on her wheelchair.

Carol was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, Curtis Vaughn and Guy Vaughn, brothers, Bob Niederer and Richard Niederer, and great-granddaughter, Summer Miller.

A memorial service for Carol was held on Sunday, June 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the Featherstone Assisted Living, 1919 W. University Blvd, Durant, OK with Kerry Groce officiating. Visitation was that evening at Holmes~Coffey~Murray Funeral Home from 5:00-7:00 pm.
