Rosa Lee (Walters) Vaughan

Rosa Lee (Walters) Vaughan was born September 20, 1923, to Christopher and Pearl Walters. Rosa went to be with her Lord, November 25, 2021, at Quail Ridge Living Center in West Siloam Springs, Oklahoma at the age of 98 years, 2 months, and 5 days.

Rosa Lee married Thomas Daniel Vaughan at the age of 16 on December 21, 1939, at Stilwell, Oklahoma. To this union were born five children. She spent her life loving to cook and take care of her family. Rosa Lee loved her flowers and taking care of a vegetable garden. She believed in not wasting anything and put-up thousands of jars of canned goods in her lifetime. Cooking was Rosa Lee's passion and she loved to cook for her family and the church. She was a devoted pastor's wife and a long-time member of the Proctor Community Church. She saw many changes in this world but never lost her faith in God through the good and bad times.

Rosa Lee was preceded in death by her parents Christopher and Pearl Walters; all of her siblings; her husband of 60 years Thomas Daniel Vaughan; one son Donald Ray Vaughan of Stilwell; one daughter Glenda (Vaughan) Morton of Westville; one granddaughter Amy (Vaughan) Steele of Siloam Springs, AR; and one daughter-in-law Jan (Hensley) Vaughan.

Rosa Lee is survived by two sons Audie Vaughan and wife Faye of Stilwell and Dennis Vaughan and wife Dianna of Stilwell; one daughter Linda (Vaughan) Kirk and husband Charlie of Lincoln, AR; one daughter-in-law Janice (Chandler) Vaughan; and one son-in-law Larry Morton. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Joletta McGowen, Brenden Vaughan, Navil Vaughan, Deana Paden, Brent Morton, Jana Rae Frantz, Jeff Vaughan, Danny Vaughan, Lynnette Kirk, Lindsey Remington and Albert Kirk. There are also 22 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren to carry on her legacy. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral Service was held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Proctor Community Church under the direction of Roberts-Reed-Culver Funeral Home, Stilwell, OK.
