Andre "Andy" Vartanian, Sr. Died: Sun., May 22, 2016. 81

The military honors celebrating the life of Andre Vartanian, 81 of Enid, will be held privately.

Andre was born May 5, 1935 in Tehran, Iran to Alex & Clara (Galstian) Vartanian, and passed away peacefully surrounded by family May 22, 2016.

He was raised in New York and attended Commerce of High School in Manhattan where he graduated. He proudly served in the US Army as an Ammo Supply Specialist during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged in 1956.

Andre's passion was working on automobiles, and he owned and operated a Union 76 service station in Placentia, California. In 1978,  Andre moved to Richardson, Texas where he continued to work on automobiles at his Texaco Station. Upon retirement in 1992, Andre and his family moved to Enid, Oklahoma. He enjoyed meeting new people and volunteered his time at the Midgley Museum, Phillips University, and Senior Life Network.

Andre is survived by his best friend and wife Janice of 43 years, sons Dennis, James, and Andre Jr., daughters Autumn, Kim, and Brandi and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Andre was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.
