Cheri (Lee) VanSyckle
May 15, 1966 ~ June 30, 2018

Cheri (Lee) VanSyckle passed away in Stilwell, OK on June 30, 2018 after a short battle with cancer. She was born on May 15, 1966 in Pryor, OK, the daughter of Ronda (Cherry) and Stan Lee. She graduated from Pryor High School on her birthday, May 15, 1984. She then attended Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa where she graduated Summa Cum Laude on March 30, 1989 with a degree as an Aviation Maintenance Technician. She went on to work for GE Aviation in Arkansas City, KS as an airframe and power plant mechanic where she met James Burks. They married and had a daughter, Nova Rae (Burks) Waldrop.

In 2007, she moved to Stilwell where she met and married Raymond VanSyckle. They made their home there until her passing. Cheri enjoyed many things which included macramé, sailing, HAM radio, church activities, beekeeping, photography, spending time with her friends and family - especially her grandson, Asher.

She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, niece, and aunt who leaves behind many wonderful memories for her family to cherish. She will be greatly missed.

Cheri is survived by her husband, Raymond VanSyckle of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Nova and Nate Waldrop of Stilwell, OK; mother and father, Ronda and Stan Lee of Pryor, OK; Sister, Lura Scroggins of Salina, OK;  grandson, Asher Waldrop of Stilwell, OK; nieces, Courtney and Harley Scroggins of Salina, OK; and a host of family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Vance and Juanita Cherry; paternal grandparents, Albert and Ruby Lee; brother-in-law, Wayne Scroggins; aunt, Bonnie Cherry; and uncle, Louis Clifford.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in her honor to the Susan G. Komen organization, American Diabetes Association, or Liberty Baptist Church of Stilwell, OK.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 5:00 pm on Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Liberty Baptist Church in Stilwell, OK.
