Ashley (Henderson) Vandever
August 7, 1940 ~ January 16, 2021

 Ashley Vandever, 80, of Bristow, OK, peacefully passed away on January 16, 2021 surrounded by family.

Ashley was born on August 7, 1940 to Don and Ethel Henderson in Vandergrift, PA. She was a 1958 graduate of Cushing High School. It was during her high school years, she began dating the love of her life, Ronald Vandever. Ashley and Ron were married on June 13, 1959. They were married for 48 years, and they went on to raise 2 children, Jeff and LeAnn.

Upon moving to Bristow, Ashley and Ron opened and managed the City Swimming Pool and she began working for the Dr. Frank Chapman Family Clinic. She continued to work for him until her retirement.

After retiring, Ashley spent her time enjoying her grandchildren and her pets. In addition to being a dedicated, loving mother and grandmother, Ashley also loved serving her community. She loved serving the children of Bristow whether it be through teaching Sunday School, volunteering at school functions, or substitute teaching during her retirement. One of her favorite activities was golfing with family and friends. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Bristow for over 50 years.

Ashley is joining her late husband Ronald Vandever and her parents Don and Ethel Henderson in Heaven. She is survived by her son, Jeff Vandever and wife Toni, daughter LeAnn Nicholson and husband Keith, grandchildren Lauren Vandever, Rachel Whitney, Brian Vandever and wife Nikki, Kyle Nicholson, Zach Nicholson, Michael Klimcak and wife Courtney, Brittany Sanders and husband Phillip, seven great-grandchildren, brother Richard Henderson and sister Paulette Henderson.

In light of the current public health situation, only a small family service will be held. However, a celebration of life gathering will be held at some indefinite point in the future when it is safe for everyone to attend.
