December 24, 1932 ~ November 12, 2017

Mr. Joe Dane Tyler, 84, of Bartlesville, died at 3:10 P.M. on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at the Forrest Manor Nursing Home in Dewey.

Funeral services for Mr. Tyler will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the Town & Country Christian Church in Bartlesville with Mr. Lanny Smith and Mr. Al Wolfe officiating. Interment will be in the Sunnyside Cemetery at Caney, Kansas directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

The Tyler family will receive guests for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 7 P.M. until 8 P.M.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to the Town & Country Christian Church, 616 N.E. Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006.

Mr. Tyler was born at Miami, Oklahoma on December 24, 1932 the son of Harry Clark Tyler and Ruby Lucille (Housman) Tyler. He grew up and received his education in Miami and graduated from Miami High School. He came to Bartlesville where he attended business college and he also served with the U.S. Army and Army Reserve. He was married to Shirley Janet Mull on September 14, 1956 in Bartlesville and they have made their home in Bartlesville since that time. He was employed as an accountant for over 50 years with Foster Petroleum Company until his retirement. He was an active charter member of the Town & Country Christian Church in Bartlesville, where he taught Bible studies and loved to call on people for the church. He also loved to fish and watch OU football.

Mr. Tyler is survived by his wife Shirley of the home, his children, Pamela Siddle and husband Steve of Arlington, Texas, Curtis Tyler of Independence, Missouri and Valerie Stringer and husband Randy of Bartlesville, four grandchildren, Stephanie Sherrick, Caitlin Siddle Washington and husband Patrick, Jennifer Stringer Boggs and Matthew Stringer, five great grandchildren, Olivia Washington, Ethan Washington, Madisyn Robison, Wyatt Boggs and Morgan Boggs, two sisters, Helen Tyler Dukeshire of St. Petersburg, Florida and Patsy Tyler Gilstrap of Norman, Okla., one brother, Neil Tyler and wife Linda of Pearland, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother, Jay Tyler and a grandson, Jonathan Siddle.
