 Emma Marie (Reinhardt) Tusing

Emma Marie (Reinhardt) Tusing
May 26, 1941 ~ May 5, 2026

It is with great sadness we announce the death of Emma Marie Reinhardt Tusing on May 5, 2026. Emma was born in Hawaii on May 26, 1941. When she was only a few months old, following the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the family was evacuated to Oakland, CA where they lived and worshiped for many years.

Emma received her Bachelor's Degree from Pepperdine University in 1963 and in 1965 she married Wiiliam Tusing and moved to Oklahoma. On March 30, 1972, her daughter Katherine Marie (Katy) came as a blessing to her life. Emma received her Masters of Applied Behavioral Studies from Oklahoma State University in 1977 and worked at the Stillwater Misdemeanant Program and then as a Social Worker in the Stillwater Medical Center for 17 years until her retirement in 2006. Emma was a member of at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Stillwater.

Her entrepreneur spirit emerged as she managed and stocked her boot ForGiving at the Stillwater Antique Mall for many years. Emma believed in community and was a core Director of Mobile Meals and received the Award of Excellence in 1996. She also served as Stillwater Community Health Center Vice Chair and Advisory Board member in 1994.

Whether you knew her as Mamma, Nana, Aunt Emma, dear friend, neighbor, colleague or co-worker, you knew that Emma was a woman of great strength and character. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles (Charlie) Lillard Reinhardt and Thelma Cleo Edwards Reinhardt Schuchard, stepfather Otto Verne "Bud" Schuchard, brothers Stan Reinhardt, William (Shirley) Reinhardt, sister Anne (Bill) Reinhardt Gallo, and grandson Charles (Charlie) Dallas Cabe.

Emma is survived by daughter, Katy Tusing Cabe Merriel, brother John (Marilyn) Reinhardt, sister-in-law Peggy Reinhardt, granddaughter, Jazmyn (Gage) Weaver, grandson Daltyn (Karlee) Hall, and great grandchildren Dallas, Haizle and Macc Weaver, numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues scattered nationwide.

Because of Emma's lifelong trust in her God of Love, she did not wish to have a public gathering of mourners but rather askes us to stay in place and remember the tears of both joy and sadness we shared with her, and especially remember all those wonderful times of fun, laughter and Joie de vivre. RIP dear Emma
