Florence Delene (McFarland) Triplett

Florence Delene (McFarland) Triplett
April 20, 1931 ~ November 11, 2023

Florence Delene Triplett, 92, born on April 20, 1931, in Woodward, Oklahoma, took her final journey on November 11, 2023. She gracefully departed from this world, leaving behind a legacy as vibrant as her spirit.

Delene's life was filled with love, laughter, and a touch of mischief. She was an adventurer from the start, growing up as the only child of Dean and LillyBelle (Rhynard) McFarland. But fate had other plans, and at just 3 months old, she lost her mother. Through life's twists and turns, Delene found comfort in the arms of her grandparents, who provided her with a nurturing home in Wichita, KS. They moved south of Curtis, OK, when Delene was in third grade.

While attending Mooreland High School, Delene's heart found its match in Jimmie Reese. Their love story was straight out of a romance novel, complete with a July 9, 1950, wedding, and the joyful addition of siblings she had always yearned for. Together, they built a beautiful family, welcoming their sons Nelson and Jimmie Jr. But fate dealt a cruel blow when Jimmie passed away on August 6, 1955, while Delene was carrying their son Jimmie Jr. With love and strength, Delene packed up her boys and embarked on a courageous journey to Denver in 1959, only to return to her beloved Oklahoma in 1968.

In a twist of fate, Delene found love again, marrying Elmer Peach in 1971. They shared 29 years together until Elmer's departure in March 2000. And just when you thought Delene had exhausted her capacity for love, along came Clyde Triplett. They tied the knot in November 2004, and Delene gained four amazing daughters. Clyde, too, left this world in June 2007, leaving Delene with a heart full of cherished memories.

Delene's zest for life was contagious, and she embraced every moment with open arms. Her wanderlust led her on countless escapades, often accompanied by her beloved sister, Idabelle. They were affectionately nicknamed "Thelma & Louise," bringing laughter and mischief wherever they roamed.

Family was the heartbeat of Delene's existence. She leaves behind a proud lineage of love and strength, including her cherished sons & daughters-in-law: Nelson (Kathy) Reese and Jimmie (Nancy) Reese. Daughters & spouses: MariLyn Cheatham (Mike Adkinson), Marsha (Don) Wilbanks, Barbara (Chuck) Roberts, and Chris (Tom) Nesmith. She also leaves behind a band of loving and mischievous siblings: Nathan Reese, Monte (Treisa) Reese, Darla Reese, and Patsy Bixler. Delene's contagious joy will be remembered through her grandchildren: Karmen (Evan) Pena, Ryan Reese, Laura (Garrett) Johnson, and Clint (Gizem) Reese. The circle of love expands with Delene's great-grandchildren: Dalton Buser, Karingtyn Buser, Bridger, Carson, and Landrie Reese, as well as Myles, Callen, and Reese Hart, and numerous nieces, nephews, close friends, and caregivers.

Delene's life was marked by both joy and sorrow. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Lloyd, Ray, and Tom, and her sisters: Leona, Samantha, Nadine, Idabelle, and Sandra, and her beloved dogs Muffy and Carly. Their spirits now join hers in eternal peace.

Education paved the way for Delene's journey, with her attending Linwood Grade School, Oak Grove District School, Mooreland High School, and Central Business College. She utilized her exceptional skills as she navigated a career filled with excitement and purpose. Delene's adventures took her to Trinity Methodist Church in Denver, Colorado, and later to Continental Airlines. When she he returned to her roots, she served as Executive Secretary at the Great Plains Research Station in Woodward, Oklahoma.

Delene's heart found solace and belonging at the United Methodist Church, her spiritual sanctuary that embraced her with open arms. Her love for her church community was unwavering and brought her great comfort throughout her life.

When Delene wasn't embarking on thrilling escapades, she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. From getting lost in captivating books to binge-watching Blue Bloods and NCIS, she knew how to find bliss in every moment. Her nimble fingers were skilled in the art of crocheting, creating masterpieces that wrapped her loved ones in warmth and love.

A celebration of Delene's extraordinary life will be held at the United Methodist Church in Mooreland, Oklahoma on December 1, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Shriner's Hospital, St. Jude's Hospital or United Methodist Church through Billings Funeral Home.

Delene's journey on this earth was filled with love and laughter, even through difficult times. As she embarks on her next grand adventure, her spirit will forever dance among the stars, reminding us to live life to the fullest. May her memorable smile, love of family, and playful spirit be eternally cherished.
