Bruce Edwin Travis

Bruce Edwin Travis
November 19, 1926 ~ June 19, 2020

Bruce Travis passed from this life on June 19, 2020 after a long full life. His laughter and outlook on life were contagious. Bruce was born on November 19, 1926 in Lincoln Park Michigan to Fred and Josephine Travis.

He served in the Navy during World War II in the Pacific theatre.

Bruce and his wife Pam have owned Jewelry stores in the Shawnee and Tecumseh area for decades.

After the Murrah Building Bombing and then the destructive May 3, 1999 tornado, he and Pam decided that they wanted to give back to the community during times of crisis and joined the American Red Cross serving in the disaster services division. Whether they were headed to a house fire or to Florida after a hurricane, Bruce always wanted to help the community during times of need. It was not unusual to see the “Closed for American Red Cross relief services” sign hanging in their window at their business. Bruce and Pam served in the Red Cross for more than twenty years. Bruce and Pam were active in Lakeshore Lodge Dance Club as well as being a part of the Lake Eufaula community. Bruce was also a Mason and a Shriner.

Bruce is survived by his wife Pam of thirty-three years, two sons and their wives, Rick and Charma Travis and Mark and Nancy Travis, both residing in Michigan, One step-son Shawn Green and wife Carla and one step-daughter Shana Henke, both residing in Stillwater, Oklahoma. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was loved and will be missed by many.

Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.dightonmarler.com.
