Manuela Torres was born on December 24, 1930 in Waco, Texas to Juan and Simona Gonzales. She died on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 in Lawton, Oklahoma with her family at her side.
Services have been set for 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 13, 2012 in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with Reverend Joseph R. Ross, officiating. A prayer service followed by reciting of the Rosary is scheduled for Friday evening at the funeral home starting at 7:00 PM.
Manuela was raised in Texas. She married Manuel Torres in Weatherford and lived in the Ft Worth area until moving to Oklahoma in 1958.
Manuela was a full time wife and mother, and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking for her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; one son, Robert Torres; a granddaughter, Samantha Littlehawk McLaughlin; a sister, Lupe Jimenez; and 3 brothers, Larry, Victor and Pilar Gonzales.
Survivors include 3 sons, Ernest Riggins and wife Yong of Austin, TX, Valiente Riggins of Lawton, and Manuel A. Tony Torres of Oklahoma City; 2 daughters, Samantha Ormsbee and husband Scott, and Yolanda McLaughlin and husband Larry, all of Lawton; 12 grandchildren, Jennifer Riggins Coale and husband Brian, Matt Riggins, Krystofer Bussell, Blake McDuffie, Megan McDuffie, Katey Green, Seth Torres, Mykel Ormsbee, Bolie McLaughlin, Robert Tino McLaughlin, Lillian McLaughlin and Matthew Torres; and one great granddaughter, Mia Coale, special friends, Ofelia Leon, Sandra and Tony Pokorny, and Starky and Toy Davila.
