Phyllis "Kaye" Torgenson
September 7, 1944 ~ July 18, 2012

Kaye Torgerson was born September 7, 1944 in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Flora Mae and William Homer Herring. She passed away July 18, 2012 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 11 days.

Kaye grew up in Simi, California where she attended school. After her schooling, she started her family and was a stay-at-home mother until 1977 when she moved Elk City, Oklahoma. Upon moving to Elk City, she began her career in the home healthcare industry where she administered care to Bub Miller for a number of years and worked for Judge Bert McKinney before her retirement in the early 90's. Kaye enjoyed music, crocheting and gardening but her passion in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, partner, David Talley; daughter, Roberta Mae Parker; grandson, Billy Greer.

She is survived by her 5 children, Katherine Torgerson, Moorpark, CA, Sonya Kaye Judd and husband, Roy, Foss, OK, Roland G. Torgerson, Elk City, OK, William J. Torgerson and wife, Janet, Grants Pass, OR and Felicia Sue Greer, Colorado Springs, CO; 18 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild on the way; 1 sister, Floretta S. Hartman and husband, Peter, Burson, CA and a host of other relatives and friends.

Services will be held Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Whinery-Savage Chapel officiated by Andy Taylor.
