George Todd, Jr., 91, passed away at home on Dec. 13, 2013 in Oklahoma City. He was born September 4, 1922 in Calumet, OK and was one of 12 children by father, George H. Todd and mother, Lillie Adams. Ten of the Todd children Daisy Oline Morrison Crawford, Anna Lois Pickard, Ralph Adams Todd, Ruth Martin, Rosa Lee Majors, Laura Templeton, Robert L. Todd, Mary Louise Golding, Joy Lorraine Mackie , and Allen Roger Todd predeceased him.

George received his formal education at Copan Public Schools where he graduated as valedictorian of his 1942 class. Additionally, he attended Tulsa Community College and played football at Tulsa University before going into the service. He married Nita Joan Brown in 1943 and they had two children. The couple lived in San Francisco, CA during World War 11 while he was enlisted in the U.S. Navy. George served in the Southwest Pacific on board the destroyer USS Irwin and the ill fated USS Henley. After his naval honorable discharge George and Joan lived in Oklahoma in the Washington County area and then lived 13 years in El Dorado, KS. The family returned to the Bartlesville area in 1962. George's entire working career was in Engineering and Management of crude oil supply and transportation for Farmland Industries where he retired after 40 years working for the same company. Joan, his wife of 46 years, passed away in 1990. His later partner of almost 20 years, Louise Bolt, of Bartlesville, passed away in March, 2013.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Kay and John Martin of Oklahoma City and son and daughter-in-law Bobby and Susan Todd of Conyers, GA as well as a sister, June Wall of Sapulpa, also Louise's three children; Allen Bolt of Grand Lake, Brenda White of Beaumont, TX, and Donna Williams of St. Petersburg, FL. and his very special grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of East Cross United Methodist Church, 820 S. Madison, Blvd. on January 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Memorials have been established at East Cross United Methodist Church and Oklahoma Honor Flights, WWW.Oklahomahonorflights.org/, honoring Oklahoma veterans.
