Larry Tipps

Larry Tipps
November 14, 1945 ~ February 15, 2024

Larry Tipps passed away in a farming accident at the age of 78 on February 15th, 2024. He was born in Pennsylvania on the 14th day of November, 1945, and shortly thereafter moved to Oklahoma, where he made his home.

Surviving are his wife Judy Tipps and acquired families, Hilary and Tim Fink, Natalie Dobson, granddaughters Brooklynn and Grace, grandson Jax, and Corey Henson, daughters Isabelle, Sophia and Lucia; close friends Bryan and Brenda Sherbourne and Brandon and Brittany Van Meter, Everly and Corbin and Dylan and Erin Walling; along with hundreds of other friends throughout the county, state and even Australia.
There will not be services per Larry's request. He wanted everyone to remember him as he lived.

Larry will live on forever in the hearts of us who loved him. Flowers will be donated to local senior care centers, with any donations given to the Shriners International or St. Jude Children's Hospital — in Larry's name please.

Accident kills man near Drummond on Thursday

DRUMMOND, Okla. — A former executive director of Northern Oklahoma Development Authority was killed in an accident near Drummond on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024.

Larry Tipps, 78, died after a trailer he was working on fell on him, Garfield County Sheriff Cory S. Rink said.

Garfield County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 call at around 1:50 p.m Thursday, Rink said. Tipps was under the trailer working when it slipped off the jack and fell, crushing him, Rink said.

The accident happened on private property about 1 mile north and 2 miles east of Drummond, Rink said.

Garfield County Sheriff’s Office was the investigating agency, with assistance from Oklahoma Highway Patrol. Drummond Fire Department also responded.
