Edward P. Tingle, Sr.

Services for Edward P. Tingle, Sr., 87 of Roff are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Tingle passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born November 18, 1931 in Roff to Ed Paul and Alma Price Tingle. He attended Roff schools.

He married Dorothy Maxine Butler on July 14, 1953. Mr. Tingle had been employed with LTV Aeronautics in Dallas until his retirement. After retirement he then became an active board member and later President of the Grand Prairie Gun Club. He also enjoyed photography, gardening, rock collecting, and jewelry making. He had a love for mechanical devices and electronics, if it was broken - he could fix it. Edward had a soft spot in his heart for abandon animals, including providing a home for several of them over the years. Several years after retirement he moved back to his hometown of Roff and followed his father into the ranching business.

He attended Fitzhugh United Methodist Church and was formerly a member of the Roff United Methodist Church. Ed proudly served in the U.S. Marines.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine of 66 years; a daughter, Lezlie T. Miranda and her husband, Dr. José P. Miranda, Jr. of Laredo, TX; a son, Edward Tingle, Jr. and his wife Kim of Grand Prairie, TX; and three grandsons, José P. Miranda, III, Agustín Miranda, and Julián Miranda.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandson, Edward Perry Tingle.

Honorary Pallbearers: Bill Lee, Brett Chandler, Kent Cantwell, José Miranda, III, Agustín Miranda, Julián Miranda.
